Played at Diggings Oval at CSU on Saturday, St Pat's were cruising against the undefeated table-toppers Dubbo Macquarie, leading 26-6, before coach Tyson Medlyn decided to change things up, allowing the Raiders to claw their way back into the match.
St Pat's would hold on, however, to secure a 26-22 win and remain undefeated after three rounds.
Medlyn admitted Macquarie coming back into the game was his fault.

"We controlled most the game. Our forwards were dominant in the middle and the halfs did their job off the back of it but for about 45 minutes of that game we were in the driver's seat," he said.
"Credit to Macquarie, it kind of shows why they were on top of the table. They never gave up and clawed their way back into it, which was a bit nerve-racking because it's sort of the same thing that happened to us last week.
"It was my wrong-doing [letting Macquarie get back into the game]. I looked at our bench and felt a bit sorry for a few of the boys and gave them a run. I think I then had too many of our starters off at once and they started rolling through the middle of us, scoring a few tries.
"I had to bring our starting team back on, but we held them out in the end. Just a couple of errors from me, not the boys fault. I was just trying to give them all a run."
In other results, Dubbo CYMS smashed Woodbridge 50-6, while Forbes downed Orange CYMS 36-12.
Dubbo CYMS' big wins puts them first, with St Pat's in second.
- ST PAT'S 26 (Tye Siakisoni, Lochlan Dogg, Jackson Vallis, Jackson Duff, Aaron Mawhinney tries; Cooper Neilsen 3 goals) defeated DUBBO MACQUARIE 22 (Sonny Knight 2, Dalin Smith, Randel Dowling; Dowling 3 goals)
