IT was a slow start to the month, but Bathurst has now exceeded its long-term average rainfall for March after a wet weekend.

The city had a paltry 0.2 millimetres in the gauge, officially, up until late last week.
That total is now 56.2mm - which is just over the long-term average for March of 52.9mm.

Among Bathurst's neighbours, Orange has had 120mm for the month after picking up 52mm in the 24 hours to Friday morning and another 52mm in the 24 hours to Sunday morning.
More than 30mm of Orange's rain was reported to have fallen in the space of just 40 minutes on Saturday evening.
Lithgow, meanwhile, has just 32mm for March and Dubbo has just under 27mm for the month so far.
Bathurst is set for an autumnal week of temperatures in the early 20s, according to the Bureau of Meteorology's forecast.
