With the weather finally breaking, the greens re-opened for the players to record some great results, so without any further ado, here's how the last two weeks rolled.
Tuesday March 16
Rink two: Ron Hogan, Dick Graham and Ron McGarry failed to fire against John Banning, Nev Kable and Terry Burke.
With Team Burke picking up 7 on the 7th to take the scores 12-5, Team McGarry had no answer for the remaining ends to go down 24-14.
Rink three: Mick Burke and Joe Wright had a fight on their hands against Peter Phegan and Noel Witney who drew level on the 6th (6-all). But from here it was a one-way street for Team Witney who ran away with the win 28-12.
Rink four: Jim Clark, Robin Moore and Gary Cameron had a tight game against Terry Clark, Peter Ryan and Glen Miller.
With level scores on the 7th (4-all), 10th (8-all), 17th (20-all) and again on the 21st (24-all). An extra end was played and Team Cameron came up trumps 25-24.
Rink five: Paul Jenkins, Brian Hope and Gordon Death battled it out against Keith Pender, Russ McPherson and Phil Burgess.
On the 7th end with scores level (5-all) Team Burgess prevailed 20-15.
Rink six: Ian Warren, Des Sanders and Tim Pickstone showed how it is done against John Bosson, George Ballard and Peter Drew.
With a dominating performance Team Pickstone was never troubled in the match winning 25-9.
Saturday March 20
Early Bowls
Rink 10: Ray Minogue, Garth Robinson and Alan Clark drew level against Kerry Connors, Terry James and Phillipe Legal on the 8th (5-all) and again on the 19th (14-all).
Team Legal prevailed in the end taking the win 16-15.
Rink 11: Terry Clark, Jeff Adams and Max Elms proved too good for George Ballard, Des Sanders and Ron Hogan.
A tight match throughout, with nothing in it until the last two ends, saw Team Elms take what was anyone's match winning 21-14.
Midday Bowls
Rink 10: Phillipe Legal and Dave Josh held their own against Peter Zylstra and Trevor Sharpham.
With Team Josh boasting a 20-3 lead by the 11th the writing was on the wall for Team Sharpham who fought back in the back end of the match to go down 24-20.
Rink 11: Ron Hogan, Max Elms and Allan Clark were on the right grass against Terry Clark, Terry James and Noel Witney.
With a dominate performance Team Clark were racking up the points and took the win 24-15.
Rink 12: Des Sanders, Jeff Adams, and Greg Quartly-Scott opened well against Jim Clark, Ross Dansfield and Phil Burgess with an 9-0 lead by the 6th.
Team Quartly-Scott were too good with an unmatched opposition winning 28-6.
Rink 13: Robert Raithby, Ray Minogue and Peter Drew couldn't match the excellence of George Ballard, Ron McGarry and Mick Bright.
Team Bright played a superb match without losing the lead throughout the match, winning 23-16.
This wraps up the week's that were at the Majellan Bowling Club. Just a side note to all members.
Currently there is a new team shirt on display in the bar area, please take a moment to check out the new Majellan team shirt and give and discussion to Leonie McGarry with your thoughts of the new design. Personally, it looks fantastic, well done Leonie and the team behind the new design. So until next week, be kind to each other, see you on the Green and Stay Frosty.

Social Bowls
Wednesday 24th March
Game one, rink three: Denis Oxley and Barry McPherson had a win over Ian Cunningham and John McDonagh, 25-21.
It was pretty even up to the ninth end when the score favoured Ian and John 9-6. A six put Denis and Barry into the lead, followed by a three to have the score at 15-9.
Ian and John were only one shot down, 15-14 but Denis and Barry added ten shots in the following five ends thus leading 25-14. Ian and John took the last three ends and seven shots but fell short.
Game two, rink four: Dennis Harvey and John Fulton defeated Ian Schofield and Phil Murray, 20-15. The game was quite even with the scores levelled at 5-all, then 13-all at the fourteenth end. From there, Scoey and Phil only added two shots while Dennis and John added seven.
Game three, rink five: Kevin Miller, John Martin and Ian Shaw beat Ray Noonan, Liz Bull and Bob Foster 22-18.
Up to the eighth end, Shorty's team had added ten shots to Kevin's team's four. A strong burst of scoring had them 17-12 at the fifteenth end, then 22-14 at the nineteenth. A couple of two's in the last two ends brought Shorty's team's score to 18.
Saturday 27th March
Game one, rink one: Hans Hummelshoj and Barry McPherson had a strong win over Nev Townsend and Brian Burke, 27-14.
Dropping only three ends in the first ten, Hans and Barry led 16-7. The next two ends saw Nev and Brian add five shots to bring the score up to 16-12. Hans and Barry took all but one end to the finish.
Game two: Bob Lindsay and Kevin Miller had a 24-13 win over Ian Schofield and Susie Simmons.
After dropping four shots in the fist end, Scoe and Susie won seven shots in the next four ends. It was 10-all in the twelfth end but Scoe and Susie only added three singles while Bob and Kevin added fourteen shots, including a five in the final end. There was great amusement for the assembled crowd as Bob "The Wrong Bias Enforcer" threw one himself! It was thought his contribution should have been in folding money.
Game three: A 23-16 win for Mick Sewell, Jack Smith (back from holidays) and Barry McPherson over Garry Hotham, Pat Duff and John Fulton.
Garry's team led 7-2 in the eighth end, but Mick's team had that levelled at 7-all two ends later. The next four ends yielded seven shots for Garry's team, but Mick's team added thirteen shots in five ends to lead 20-14. The last two ends added two for Garry, three for Mick.
Game four: Alex Birkens and Ian Shaw defeated Geoff Thorne and Jim Grives 20-14. After eight ends Alex and Ian led with the score 9-5, after twelve ends, it was 14-6. After sixteen ends, it was 16-8. A three in the last end for Alex and Ian brought the final score to 20-14.
Game five: Norm Hayes, Anthony Morrissey and Bruce 'Skippa' Rich defeated the team of Mick Simmons, Paul Rodenhuis and Arch Ledger.
Norm's crew started well and early with seven shots after two ends. They maintained this lead throughout with Mick's team struggling. Norm had some very good shots, as did Anthony and Bruce.
The closest Mick's team was four shots down at 12-8 in the ninth end. The gap at the end was 10, 25-15.
Game six: Kenny Fulton had Arthur Williams and Phil Murray on his side to defeat Ron Cambey, John McDonagh and Grant Brunton. Ken's team led from the start - five-nil after three ends, 18-5 after fifteen and 23-11 at the end.
Bathurst Real Estate Juniors
Again, it was great to see the kids out there practicing and playing. While Anthony Morrissey coached his daughters Sofie and Chloe, the four boys had a game of Three bowl pairs.
Harry Morrissey played with Skip Dempsey against Skip Flynn and new-comer Charlie. While all had excellent shots, not all scored. The result was a win for Dempsey and Harry.
