It's time the NSW Government revisited its long-term strategic planning.
In a world changed by COVID, an expansionist China and increasingly unpredictable weather events, the link between Sydney and the Central West must be improved to ensure reliable, fast, safe movement of goods and people over the Blue Mountains.
Paul Toole's objective to improve the link is correct, but the plan is out of date.
We have the technology to build a tunnel under the whole upper Blue Mountains without the years of disruption caused by widening the existing highway and a suboptimal end result.
