Fast forward to April, the seven-year-old bay mare has gone from strength to strength at Trainor's Elderslie stables, with Dibaba winning an incredible seven races in a row.
With Amanda Turnbull in the gig for on Wednesday night in the Cobbitty Equine Ladyship Pace (1730 metres), Trainor believes there's no reason why Diaba can't make it eight wins in a row.
"I think she'll do well. She's jumping out of her skirt and she's feeling as good as she ever has and she's got Amanda Turnbull on her which is always a plus around Bathurst," he said.

"I can't imagine why she can't carry on her merry way.
"I think she's raced half that field before. I just hope she turns up. She'll be going forward because she's quite a tough mare. She can make her own luck a bit. It looks like another good race for her."
Before making her first start NSW start at Penrith on February 4, all of Dibaba's career starts had been in Western Australia.
Trainor thinks Dibaba's success in NSW may be due to what he believes is a stricter handicap system in place for pacers in Western Australia.
"They've got a quite tough handicapping system over there. Once a horse wins their races, it's very had for them to drop down in grade," he said.
"They don't lose points or dollars like they do over here. Once you've raced your races over there, you're stuck in those grades until the end.
"And sometimes you get horses that click to the way you train. We've changed a few little things over with her and she's seems to be enjoying her life here."
After arriving at his stables, Trainor admitted he didn't expect the success she's enjoyed over the past few months.
"I didn't really expect her form. It's pretty hard to get a guide out of what she would do over here," he said.
"The owner Edwina Kelly, she bought her in Perth and bought her out of a stable that was selling a lot of horses to NSW. They just asked if I wanted to train her and to be honest looking at her form, I wasn't that excited about getting her.
"But I thought being in the grade she is, I thought she'd do a good enough job and I might be able to move her onto Queensland. She's been a pleasant surprise and I'm glad I got her.
"She's just been a gem to be honest. By no means would I have thought she would've won seven in a row."
Dibaba's run started back on February 4 with a win at Penrith, followed by wins at Bathurst (February 14), Newcastle (February 19), Penrith (March 4), Bathurst (March 10), Bathurst (March 24) and Penrith (April 1).
