I WAS born and bred in Bathurst and maybe one day, like many of my family and folk, will see some of you again.

I'd like to know if anyone remembers the story behind the dog on the Great Western Highway near Bathurst that waited for his owner to come.
Truckies fed and watered the dog, called "Boy", during the 70s and early 80s. He had a little plaque that said "Here was Boy".
OTHER RECENT LETTERS:
I know it was news in the day, but can't find it since.
Why I ask is that I remember this from a movie recently, so if you like a good yarn, have a look at Hachi: A Dog's Tale, starring actor Richard Gere, and directed by Lasse Hallstrom, about Hachi and his relationship with an American professor and his family.
