NOT many Penrith Panthers players would have enjoyed their time at Bathurst's Carrington Park more than Liam Martin.

The Penrith interchange player picked up a pair of highlights from the team's 28-16 win over the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles on Saturday - a try less than 10 minutes after coming off the bench and a brilliant try assist to seal the win for his team.
Martin was the beneficiary of an excellent short ball from Nathan Cleary which split the Manly defence, allowing him to score an easy try that put the Panthers up 14-6 half an hour into the match.
Then, with his side up 22-16 inside the last four minutes, Martin jumped past several Sea Eagles defenders to bat a grubber back into play and into the hands of teammate Stephen Crichton for a try.
"That was just a bit lucky," Martin laughed, referencing his athletic assist.
"Dylan [Edwards] nearly put it into the hill but I got a lucky bounce and it came off for me."
Martin finished the day with solid stats off the bench, including 10 hit-ups for four tackle breaks and 50 post contact metres.
He said it was great to come away with the victory after a performance that was far from the team's best.

"It was great to get the win and play a part in it. It wasn't our best game but I'm glad we could get out to the Bathurst community and put on a good show for them," he said.
"We didn't have the intensity that we needed when we came back out in the second half and we didn't match them them there. That's a learning experience that we'll have to take on board for our next game against the Sharks."
Panthers have now won eight straight games to start the NRL season, and snapped a two-game losing run at Bathurst with the weekend's success.
Martin said it's been easy for the team to find motivation after what they've been through in the past.
"A couple of years ago we lost six games in a row and a lot of the team we have now were a part of that group. None of us want to be in that spot again," he said.
"We're enjoying winning a lot at the moment ... and hopefully we can keep going on with it."
