SHE might have got herself a little lost when she hit the front but Rock The Dream had just enough focus to see off Departing Bullet in a photo finish at Tyers Park on Sunday.

Rock The Dream ($11, Ashley Morgan) scored her second career win for Warwick Farm trainer Matthew Smith when she took out the Erin's Quality Outdoor Power Centre Class 1 Handicap (1,300 metres) ahead of the Jade McDonald-trained Departing Bullet ($2.70, Mikayla Weir).
It was a big bounce back for Rock The Smith after a forgettable outing at Canberra just over a week ago.
Winning jockey Ashley Morgan said Smith had told him to completely discount that race.
"She put together a couple of nice runs with a third at Gosford and a win at Goulburn. She was disappointing at Canberra the other day but Matt told me to ignore that run and focus on the two before that," he said.
"She's a good type of filly. She travel quite well in the run. She's a big horse and she didn't fully handle the track, because it's quite tight here, but I was able to nurse her around the last turn and let her finish up the straight.
"I thought she was going to put a length on the second horse but she kind of floated when she got up there. She doesn't feel like a bad horse and I feel like she would measure up at the provincials.
"She just gave the other horse that opportunity to come back at her late but always had the feeling that she was going to hold him off."
The two best-backed runners, Departing Bullet and London Gal ($2.40 favourite, Lee Magorrian), were the fastest away in Sunday's race.
Rock The Dream sat off the leading pair and drew up alongside Departing Bullet as the field straightened for home.
The pair went stride for stride over the entire straight all the way to the winning post, with Morgan's filly doing just enough to get the nod.
One of the race's home hopes Too Spicy ($16, Grant Buckley), trained by Roy McCabe, flew home along the rails for third.
She finished a length and a half off the leading pair in her second run for McCabe.
