Western's fortunes weren't helped due to the sending off of goalkeeper Jordan Bruce, while the Central West-based team could've had more players sent off with Hemza Arshad and Luke Mutton both being shown yellow cards.
For Hawkesbury City, its five-goal win on Saturday has propped them up to sixth position on the NSW NPL4 ladder, with two games in hand due to postponed matches from the Hawkesbury floods in March.
Hawkesbury took a 1-0 lead into the break, before pilling misery onto Western in the second half with another four goals put into the back of the home team's net.
Marco Turpeinen scored a hat-trick for the visitors - bringing his season tally up to seven goals in five matches - while Gregory Kondek and Kwadwo Boamah-Addai.
Life doesn't get any easier for Western, as the team is scheduled to take on competition leaders Fraser Park at Proctor Park on Saturday, May 8.
Fraser Park have scored 31 goals in from nine matches, winning eights games and drawing one.
Western's form is in stark contrast to Saturday's opponent, having the worst defence with 29 goals conceded from eight games, while only managing to find the back of the net six times.
Kick-off between Western NSW FC and Fraser Park is from 4pm at Proctor Park in Bathurst.
