But the team would still have been hoping to return home with more than zero goals to their name instead of the 11-8-74 to 0-1-1 scoreline they found against a strong Dubbo Demons outfit.
Dubbo lent Bushrangers two players to help create a full 14-on-14 contest but the Demons' bench depth and their experience were a hard combination for the Bathurst side to deal with.

"We probably had a few experienced personnel absent - not to take anything away from our girls who have had a lack of game time - but there were a few leaders in certain areas we were missing.
"The attitude of the girls is the shining point of the day. They were always enthusiastic and encouraging and happy to be playing footy. We obviously don't want to get smashed like that every week, and we want to see improvement, but the attitude is helping to keep us in high spirits."
"Dubbo were also phenomenal. They've got strong players in particular through their midfield and the forward line. They're really well drilled and a fun team to play."
