Many people involved with harness racing across the state took to social media to express their condolences and share fond memories of the champion reinsman.
Harness Racing NSW chief executive John Dumesny took to Facebook on Monday to express his sadness for the Turnbull family and gratitude for what Mr Turnbull had done for the industry.

"Tony was something to everyone in harness racing be it as a mentor to countless trainers and drivers or an inspiration to those who entered his sphere, everyone was welcome," Mr Dumesny said.
"He epitomised trotting through his horsemanship, his competitiveness, his natural ability for success and perhaps most of all his commitment to the sport. Tony Turnbull is irreplaceable."
Aside from his many successes, Mr Turnbull was best-known for his quick wit, generosity and wise words.
