Bathurst Regional Council last week resolved to enter into a sporting licence agreement for the land with the club for a five-year period.
The pan dragons have been using the land for the purpose of rowing water sports and related events since 2011.

Council approached the club, which confirmed that it would like to enter into a formal agreement.
The club will need to pay a lease fee of $550 per annum for the next five years under the agreement.
"In lieu of annual CPI increases, a flat fee for the next five years is being applied to streamline payments and allow better planning of future club operations," councillor's director of Corporate Services and Finance said in his report.
"This will more than cover any CPI increase for the next five years."
The lease will commence from June 1, with a termination date of May 31, 2026 identified.
The Bathurst Pan Dragons must abide by council regulated and mandated requirements regarding dam management as a condition of the lease.
The club also has to maintain its public liability insurance over the five-year term of the lease.
