So for the first time, students can enrol in a series of free study support sessions at Bathurst Library, prepared and delivered by the Regional Education Support Network (RESN).
Based in Melbourne, RESN is a not-for-profit organisation extending their services to the Central West, with a team of recent high-achieving HSC graduates delivering the workshops.
"They're [the tutors] all currently at tertiary education and I think some of the tutors who are doing our events are NSW university students at the moment," Bathurst Library programs team leader Victoria Murray said.
"They focus on the application of syllabus content to real-life situations, which they say is crucial for exam performance, and they tell students why the subjects they're learning are useful beyond the classroom."
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
The first two sessions will be run on June 9 and June 17, with a third to be scheduled for later in the year.
The workshops are pre-recorded and will be streamed on the big screen at the library for students to watch and take notes.
The sessions will focus on English and maths with the program suitable for students studying at all levels.
"RESN aims to empower regional students to take control of their future and Bathurst Library is excited to be partnering with them in the delivery of these events to showcase not only the ongoing support students can access, but the resources that the Library has available for HSC students, all accessible for free," library manager Patou Clerc said.
Bookings are essential and can be made via Eventbrite or by contacting the library by phone or through Facebook.
