However, this time, they might be doing something right. It seems they actually can rethink former ludicrous strategies. It just takes us to show them what is needed.
They're looking at combining the two proposed tunnels under Blackheath and Mount Victoria into one 11km tunnel to Little Hartley. Not bad, but not enough.
You have to make that tunnel start in Katoomba, go under Medlow Bath and then join it to the Blackheath-Mount Victoria tunnel to make one 19km tunnel.
This would give those Central West-Sydney travellers a decent stretch of faster unencumbered travel. And it would provide an alternative or emergency road for times of bushfire, snow, ice, road slips, flooding, road accidents and the infuriating traffic crawl of every weekend and public holiday.
Try a bit harder TfNSW and you should see what the rest of us have been seeing for a long, long time.
The idea is there, the technology is there and the money is there to help the business people and every other traveller.
So where are you Mr Toole? Whose side are you on?
RJ Spooner, Hartley
