AFTER a difficult year with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Quality Hotel has been recognised by its own guests for its high-level service.
The hotel has won a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Award, for consistently receiving outstanding traveller reviews on Tripadvisor over the last 12 months.
Manager Luke Newman said it's not the first time it's won a Tripadvisor award.
In normal times, the hotel is frequented by corporate guests, but with the pandemic it has been accommodating leisure guests and locals.
QR sign-in codes and increased cleaning were implemented to make the hotel safer during the health crisis.
"The cleaning schedules are a lot more frequent, a lot more thorough, we use a lot more disposable, one-use stuff at the moment, and we ask people to socially distance," Mr Newman said.
He said winning the Travellers' Choice Award was a "true testament" to the hotel and the efforts of the staff during the last 12 months.
While many of the usual corporate guests are still working from home, things are slowing getting back to normal for the Quality Hotel.
It is also welcoming more residents, who can dine in the restaurant for breakfast or dinner to try the menu from the new head chef.
"It's going so well that we are looking at expanding into lunch as well," Mr Newman said.
