Owner Gerbina Gordon purchased a vending machine in November 2020 to give customers the opportunity to purchase fresh fruit outside of opening hours.
"[Customers] sometimes can't get around here because of work commitments or other commitments ... so we thought this might be something of use," Mrs Gordon said.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
"We also wanted to find something because it's my husband and myself and we're very busy in the orchard at the moment pruning and cleaning up. We needed something so people could still come and buy fruit at their own leisure."
After a lot of research Mrs Gordon found an Australian company with the perfect machine, one that takes EFTPOS, is refrigerated and features an elevator ensuring the fruit is handled with care.
"So the main part was finding something that takes card because a lot of people like to pay with EFTPOS," Mrs Gordon said.
"And it's refrigerated too so it keeps all the fruit fresh and because we're here everyday I just stock the front row."
Mrs Gordon also hopes to encourage children to eat fruit, noticing how excited they get when using the machine.
