"We are going to Dubbo next Thursday [and] Friday to face Dubbo there, and Orange play Dubbo in week 10 [of term]," one of the Astley Cup organisers, Sarah Murray, said.
There's a lot at stake for Bathurst students who are looking for their fourth consecutive Astley Cup title.
The competitiveness also extends well beyond the students, with many locals becoming quite spirited in showing their support for their town despite the cold.
"We've still got pretty good numbers from the school to come and support and we've got a lot of parents and ex-students who have come down as well to support the team which is really fantastic," Ms Murray said.
"There's a couple of ladies who went to Bathurst High many years ago come to support the Bathurst High team which is fantastic and I guess the community spirit really keeps the Cup alive."
Bathurst finished day two well, taking a 254-146 lead after defeating Orange in basketball and both the boys' and girls' soccer.
