Not-for-profit Veritas House will hold its Winter Wonderland Ball in August to mark its 40-year history of supporting children, young people and their families, including through homelessness services and foster care.
Corporate services manager Narelle Stocks said access to affordable housing in the region continues to be the greatest barrier for young people that Veritas House supports across a range of programs.

For that reason, she said all proceeds from the ball will go towards Veritas' Transitional Housing Appeal, aiming to provide accommodation to young people moving from homelessness to independence.
"In order to achieve our fundraising goal, we're asking local businesses to consider what they might be able to donate towards the night, either financially or through donations of vouchers or products that we can use for raffles, auctions and lucky envelopes," she said.
"Every donation, large and small, will make a huge difference."
Mrs Stocks said local businesses have already shown plenty of support for the ball.
She said apprenticeships, training and employment services agency VERTO has come on board as platinum sponsor for the ball, citing the shared values between the two not-for-profit organisations.
Sponsorship commitments have also been made by Peak Connect (gold sponsor), Raine and Horne Bathurst, The Persuader and Bathurst Regional Security (silver sponsors) and Yarrabin Holiday Ranch and Kenny Spring Solicitors (bronze sponsors), she said.
"Sponsorship has largely been via word-of-mouth through the close local business connections Veritas has established as a result of operating in the Bathurst community for 40 years, and we could not be happier with the initial response we've received, which we hope will continue to grow in the weeks ahead," she said.
"We're particularly grateful to VERTO, for the media partnership support we've received from the Western Advocate and Radio 2BS, and the in-kind donations we've received, including complimentary wines for every table from See Saw and Renzaglia Wines and venue hire and staging from the Goldfields Bathurst, all of which will ensure we can maximise the funds raised on the night."
The Winter Wonderland Ball will be held on Saturday, August 28.
