The Goats went 1-0 up early after a Thomas Dale cross was unable to be cleared off the line by the Lithgow defence, resulting in an own goal, before Ryan Peacock doubled the hosts lead before half-time.

The score remained unchanged, as the 2-0 win sealed Panorama's third win of the season and its second against Lithgow.

Considering the rivalry between the two clubs, Panorama coach Brent Osborne said the win against Lithgow was extra special.

"There's few sweeter things in life then Panorama Football Club beating Lithgow Workmen's Club," he said.

"It was nice and it was good to get back in the winners circle.

"It's been pretty well noted that we've had an up and down start to the season, so we really wanted to win that game, to kick start some momentum heading into the second half of the year."

Osborne is hoping that result can be a turning point in his side's season and can help build momentum in the lead up to finals.

"We made a lot of positive changes after our loss to Mudgee, which was only a fortnight ago," he said.

"We've got a bit sharper and changed a few things about the way we play. I think the Lithgow game was a good start but we've got to play Waratahs this weekend, so there's no greater test in the competition then playing them."

With just eight weeks left in the WPL, Osborne is hoping his team can improve in a number of departments.

"Our fitness is probably a bit behind for us. We're making some changes for the rest of the year. It's not a quick fix, more of a project," he said.

"We expect to arrive at the pointy end of the season a lot sharper and a lot of fitter then what we are there.

"The focus for the Lithgow game was being a defensively sound team. We're scoring a good amount of goals, but we just needed to make some changes to the back.

"We just went back to our structure, being compact and hard to breakdown, which definitely did on Friday night."

It was a round of heated rivalries, as Orange Waratahs came from behind against crosstown neighbours Barnstoneworth United to win 3-2 on Saturday, extending the new boys' undefeated start to the season to nine games.

Dubbo Bulls were held to a 2-all draw against Macquarie United at Apex Oval on Saturday evening, while Parkes Cobras made the big trip to Mudgee, a game they won 2-0 against Wolves.
