"We are creating a great relationship with Sapphire Coast and hopefully we can bring this game back in future years," he said.
This is the first time since 2018 the senior men's Central West will be in action, last playing against the best players from the Northern Riverina Football League, a competition featuring teams such as Hillston, West Wyalong, Lake Cargelligo and Ungarie.
While the side is without some of the league's top talent, the squad is expected to be competitive with their Sapphire Coast opponents, with the co-coaches having put significant effort into recruiting a side that is excited for the region's return to the representative program.
AFL Central West competition and development coordinator Casey White said the representative fixture will be a good opportunity for players to test their ability against other players.
"Our players, particularly in tier one, don't get much variety in opponent with the four-team competition," White explained.
"I'm looking forward to seeing our guys have the chance to compete against different players and showcase to the South Coast what we are capable of.
"Whilst we would love to have our strongest side on the park, we are thrilled to be taking a team across, and hope that their experience encourages others in future years to get involved."
Central West will play the Sapphire Coast at 2.30pm on Saturday.
Central West will also have its under 13s, under 15s and under 17s teams playing at Nowra against junior teams from the Sapphire Coast, Illawarra and Shoalhaven competitions from Friday to Sunday.
Central West will feature in women's and youth girls.
