Cr Bourke was in Penrith to meet with the executive team of the Penrith Panthers and grow the relationship the club, who have taken a home NRL game to Bathurst each year since 2014 [excluding last year due to COVID-19]
"I'm in self-isolation awaiting a COVID test result, which meant I couldn't attend the opening of the Bathurst Winter Festival as a result," he said.
"I'm trying to do the right thing, and I expect everyone else who has been to Greater Sydney and surrounding areas on or since June 21 to do the same."
According to NSW Health's current advice regarding COVID-19, people who have been in the Greater Sydney region (including the Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Wollongong) on or after June 21 should follow the stay-at-home orders for a period of 14 days after they left Greater Sydney.
Those under stay-at-home orders are advised only to leave home for essential reasons identified by NSW Health.
