Perhaps that is not new, and may be heightened by the present pandemic.
I share that concern and cite the following, which has nothing to do with the pandemic.
OTHER RECENT LETTERS:
At the federal level I wrote to our local member, Andrew Gee, who has been elevated in status after recent events in Canberra.
I urged him to support the establishment of a strong national ICAC body to deal with the many alleged scandals taking place at the federal level.
My letter, with mailing address listed, was hand-delivered to the local office so it could not go astray in the mail.
The office worker receiving it asked could my phone number be listed also, to which I readily agreed.
Despite all of that happening on February 24 last, my letter has not been answered or even acknowledged to date.
At the state level, I approached the local member, Paul Toole, over a long, drawn-out and unresolved matter relating to the suspension of my driving licence, brought about by a short-term medical incident.
To his credit, he made representations on my behalf to the appropriate fellow minister.
However, it took six months almost to the day to get a response, and then only after much prodding by me at the local level and similar prodding by staff at the local office.
Having recently been heard twice through this press over items pertaining to the local council's actions, I rest my case there.
Is it any wonder that some are losing faith in politicians and government at all levels?
