Following the three-year-old's win at Albion Park last Saturday he was given a start in the upcoming $250,000 Group 1 event at the same track, where he'll be going up against some of Australasia's superstars of racing.
Drawn to Kashed Up's inside, in gate one, is New Zealand Derby and Northern Derby champion Krug, while Chariots of Fire champion Expensive Ego and Group 1-winning Kiwi runner Copy That are also in the mix.
Hewitt said it's a thrill just to be a part of an event that's been on the lips of many harness racing industry members for quite some time.
"There's been a lot of hype around this race. I haven't seen anything like it for a long time. It's definitely a race that I never dreamed I'd be in," she said.
"There's excitement around Krug after he won the New Zealand derbies. There's the likes of Copy That and Amazing Dream who have also come across from New Zealand for this race. We just happened to get invited while we had him up here so it's amazing."
Hewitt's runner has had some strong performances to his name, like the Chalice result and his NSW Regional Breeders Challenge win, but this race is a whole new game for him.
"It's a big step up for him. There are seasoned horses in this race. It's hard for the three-year-olds to take on the four-year-olds. It's like the boys taking on the men," Hewitt said.
"With the preferential barrier draw, where the three-year-olds get barrier one or two, that helps make the race competitive.
"He'll be in the running line and he'll get a good position. I'm just extremely happy for him to be in this race - any money he picks up would be a bonus."
It's been a magical season so far for Hewitt, who scored her first Group 1 training win with Keayang Kreuzer on her home track.
"These last two to three months have been every trainer's dream and I'm very grateful for it," she said.
"I only train five horses and nearly all of them have been in Group 1s. It's been a dream come true."
The Group 1 event at Albion Park will be run this Saturday at 7.45pm.
