As of Friday afternoon, snow was still being predicted for Saturday to the west, east and south of Bathurst.
If it eventuates, it will be the second snowfall of the winter for the Central Tablelands and will follow a big dumping in early June that closed roads and draped a dramatic layer of white over Mount Panorama.
A freezing weekend in Bathurst - single-digit maximums are predicted for Saturday and Sunday - comes after a warm day on Thursday by winter standards, when the city got to 15.4 degrees.

That was four degrees above the long-term average maximum for July.
Bathurst had a balmy 5.7 degree minimum on Friday morning, which followed a 6.9 degree minimum on Thursday morning.
The city now has 412mm in the gauge for the year.
