BATHURST residents have responded in their droves to a call to ramp up testing following two COVID-19 scares across the weekend.

The Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) was advised on Sunday that a confirmed COVID-19 case had travelled through the region for work between Tuesday and Friday last week, stopping at locations in Bathurst, Parkes and Blayney.
The stops included the BP truck stop at 29 Sydney Road, Raglan and anyone who was at the truck stop between 7pm-7.30pm on Tuesday, July 13; 7pm-7.45pm on Wednesday, July 14; 7.15pm-7.45pm on Thursday, July 15; and 7pm-7.30pm on Friday, July 16 has been asked to get tested immediately and isolate until NSW Health provides further information.

Long queues were forming at the drive-through COVID clinic on Mount Panorama from early this morning with testing also being ramped up in Blayney and Parkes.
That scare followed confirmation that three COVID-positive removalists had passed through Lithgow, Bathurst and Orange on their way to Molong last Friday.
A spokesperson for Western NSW Local Health District said there were more than 400 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW, many of which are open seven days a week.
