Texas Red ($2.80 favourite) claimed the win for Anderson, his red brindle dog jumping from box two, while Motor City Cobra ($7) - who has no relation to the winner - was a late call up, jumping from box five to claim second.
Anderson was pleased with Texas Read's win in the GBOTA Welcome Maiden (450 metres), his first career win in just his third ever start.
"He came out really nice today," he said.
"He was a bit better boxed today. That was his first win and he was a bit unlucky last start. He just ran up on top of the leaders. He goes well."
That last start Anderson is referring too his a third place at Bathurst back on July 12, when the joint favourite was beaten by Snowy's Lass and Carla's Treasure for victory.
Currently, like most trainers in NSW, Anderson is restricted to entering his dogs in the region he is based, meaning he's only racing at Bathurst and Dubbo at the moment.

So it really means he has two options when it comes to entering his dogs in the near future.
"We can't really race anywhere, here and Dubbo pretty much, but he'll probably come back here for a couple other starts and then we'll revaluate," he said.
For Anderson's second place finisher Motor City Cobra, it was his first ever start.
While Motor City Cobra is just a bit behind Texas Red in career development, ability wise he believes there's little between them
"The other one goes well too," Anderson said.
"He's probably a little bit behind, but ability wise there's not much between them. He's probably a bit quicker."
Tania Trappett would see her two of dogs claim two wins in the meeting, with Brother Jon in the second race and Windy Pines in the sixth race.
