With only four games left in their regular season campaign, the Goats are in a disappointing seventh place, three points behind fifth place and a finals position.
Macquarie is currently occupying that fifth place spot and a strong enough win from the Bathurst club would see them leapfrog the Dubbo team, if other results go their way too.

But a loss for Goats would leave them six points off the pace with just three games to go, so coach Brent Osborne knows how important a win on Saturday would be to his team's finals hopes.
"We had a 3-all draw with them last time but we felt like we were the better team, which is the story of our season, not coming away with the three points," he said.
"We're confident we can get the win but for us, this is the season. You win this one and your finals hopes are alive or if you lose this one, it's all she wrote. The rest of the season will be a bit of fun."
Following a 4-all draw away to Parkes Cobras two Saturdays ago, Osborne admitted that his backline will have to be on song if the Goats are to claim victory.
"We've got no drama scoring goals, we've just got to stop them coming in. That'll be the focus this weekend, going back to being tight and hard to break down," he said.

"I don't think Macquarie has the attacking sting they had last year, losing a couple of good strikers. They're still a great side, don't get me wrong, but if we're hard to break down and defensively compact and tight, that'll be a good chunk of the battle and I think we've got enough quality to fire up front that we should be able to get some goals."
Osborne is hoping striker Jaiden Culbert will have a big game on Saturday, a player who has made his return from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) at the start of the season.
"I'd really love Jaiden Culbert to have a big game. He's really growing into it and starting to get a little bit fitter," he said.
"He played some good minutes in our last game and he's been working hard the past few weeks when we haven't been playing.
"In my opinion, he's one of if not the best striker out this way. He's just a great talent and he's come back from a pretty big injury. I know he's up for it and I think he's due a cracker."
Panorama's remaining four matches will be played at home, however, none of them are guaranteed wins
"We've got some tough games. We've got to play Barnies midweek, we've got Mudgee who's in form and Bulls as well," Osborne said.
"But if you can't match it with those teams, then there's no point showing up in September. That aside, we've got a good run home, but our eyes are firmly focused on Saturday. It's a big game for us."
Kick-off is at 3pm.
