Before the region was thrust into lockdown, teams in the under 12s, 14s and 16s CWJRU competitions played major and minor semi-finals.
The CWJRU board has considered a number of options as to how things could proceed from there, depending on when the regional New South Wales lockdown ends.
If the current lockdown ends on August 28 as scheduled, it will resume with preliminary finals at Cowra on September 4.
If lockdown is extended another week, the sides which placed first and second will compete in a grand final on September 11.
But competition administrator Jarrod Simpson said any resumption of play must include all teams who qualified.
"If there's an opportunity for us to play it safely, then we'd like the opportunity to play," he said.
"But it must be fair for all clubs, so all clubs must be available to play - so Dubbo and Wellington who are in the Dubbo LGA, Bathurst, Mudgee - every club that has teams left must be able to play.
"We felt it was fair for the teams that had worked hard all year not to be excluded, we didn't think it would be fair to go ahead if they weren't able to play but someone else might have been."
There is one other option that the CWJRU board has revealed if the NSW Public Health stay at home orders continue past September 5.
In that instance then the major semi-final winners will be declared premiers, but Simpson and his fellow CWJRU officials are hoping it won't get to that point.
"Rather than just hanging around for hanging around sake, we thought that there needed to be a deadline," Simpson said of the cut-off for the resumption of play.
"So if it goes beyond that, the winners of the major semis get declared premiers.
"It would be lovely if we could play, that's why we have the option there if we can. We think it's really good for kids if they can get out and play, that they do, that would be a good outcome, but only if it's able to happen with community safety."
