In 2017, before council elections, Councillor John Fry said to us Brewongle residents that he likes solar, but not at this site.
After the elections, he supported solar at Brewongle and abandoned us.
In 2021, before council's planned elections in 2021, Cr Fry texted me and said the proposed site is not a good location for a solar farm and he would be supporting our group to have it moved.
Now, Cr Fry says, about solar, "first in, best dressed".
So much for his support! So much for this councillor's promise to support council's by-laws, and plans. Damn Brewongle, Glanmire and Eglinton residents.
So much for the beautiful city of Bathurst, it's solar at any cost - "first in, best dressed".
Throw Bathurst and its constituents under the bus.
Why doesn't council and why don't councillors simply support council's own plan, its constituents and our State Government to achieve renewable goals through the government's Designated Renewable Zones? How easy this should be.
