The NSW government announced on Thursday that an 80 per cent vaccination rate across the state will be required before community sport gets underway, which prompted several competitions across the western region to pull the pin on their seasons this week.
However, Group 10 has signalled their determination to play out some form of finals in 2021 - but it's just a question of how deep clubs are will to play into the year.
Following a meeting on Thursday evening, Group 10 president Linore Zamparini said it was decided that the committee will seek feedback from clubs on the best path forward.
"The government have put responsibility on local government areas, saying that if they stay clean for 14 days they can restart everything but as soon as a case comes up they go straight back into lockdown," he said.
"We're certainly getting on in the year but we're putting it out to all the clubs involved in semis what their thoughts are because, at best, we'll be looking at finishing early to mid November now.
"Clubs haven't played since the middle of August and the two weeks of training will probably not be enough to come into a pretty strong semi-finals. If clubs want to keep going and think that they can get it done then we're behind them 100 per cent."
Should Group 10 still be able to push ahead with a finals series as summer approaches then there will also be logistical hurdles to overcome.
"It's really out of everyone's control now. We're going to be pushing into the cricket season and summer sports are going to be behind as well because they can't get out and do their training too," Zamparini said.
"It would have been great to have semi-finals in some format to finish the season off but it's certainly not looking good at this point.
"We're just playing it by ear and we'll see how we go. At present, the only local government area in our competition that's not in lockdown is Cowra, but if we can see a clear way to play then we'll do it."
St Pat's have four teams due to be involved in under 18s and senior finals this season while Bathurst Panthers have three, but that number would drop to one for St Pat's and two for Panthers if only grand finals end up being played.
As of Friday afternoon no statement had been put forward by New South Wales Rugby League in regards to the state of community rugby league competitions.
