Bathurst Regional Council has confirmed that the waste management centre will open to the public from 10am Friday after it was closed on Sunday following a positive COVID-19 case among council staff.
Normal operating hours will resume from Saturday.
The facility is open from 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, and 8.30am to 3pm on weekends.
Council's general manager David Sherley has asked people to delay their trip if they can to reduce queuing.
"Could I request that people are patient to also observe Public Health Order requirements to wear a mask at all times and observe social distancing. QR code check-in will be required by all members of the public that attend the waste management centre," he said.
Mr Sherley had flagged on Thursday that the waste management centre would reopen Friday, subject to staff availability.
As of Thursday, almost all of the staff members that had to undergo COVID testing had received negative results.
Council was still waiting on the results of some tests to come in, but so far no other staff have tested positive.
