The food van was created in mid 2019 to provide free meals to people who were doing it tough, including the city's homeless, on days when other services weren't offering food.
With those people still needing support during the lockdown, the op shop has been able to find a way to maintain the service.
"The community op shop has kept the food van operating for takeaway. They've prepacked meals ready to take away on Mondays and Tuesdays," councillor Bobby Bourke said.
"There is a small group using it still. If there is anyone else out there they can be catered for."
Meals vary day by day, but people can expect to receive dishes such as lasagne, spaghetti bolognese and soups.
"They're all done, they're all homemade and they're all prepacked and ready to go," Cr Bourke said.
He said the meals can be picked up between 4pm and 6pm from the op shop, which is located off Lions Club Drive in Kelso.
"The shop is closed because of COVID, but when they come down they can come around the back to the kitchen and they're provided with the meal to take away," he said.
