The Bathurst Giants junior finished third in the best and fairest polling last season, in what was his first year involved in the sport, and he went two places better this time around as he capped off a dominant season.
His father Sean couldn't be prouder of his achievements to date.
"We watched the count with him. After the first three rounds his eyes went wide. He polled six in the first round and five in the second round so it was a pretty cool moment for him watching it with his mum and siblings," he said.
"A year younger he ended up third in the best and fairest. Then this year he got selected for Giants Academy and trialled for CIS AFL. He unfortunately didn't make the team but trialling was a big thing for him."
Munns' best and fairest effort was all the more impressive considering he missed several games throughout the season.
Giants finished the under 12s season as minor premiers - dropping just one of their nine matches.
Munns is quickly becoming quite the all-rounder in the Bathurst sporting landscape, having also being named over the past year in district and regional teams for both soccer and cricket.
He also was a part of AFL Central West's under 12s representative side who travelled to Shoalhaven for their carnival in winter.
"He's one of those kids where any field sport you put him in to he picks it up quickly," his father said.
"He's was one of the best performed players in his rep soccer and cricket team but AFL seems to be something that's really clicked for him, and he loves it too.
"In his first season of AFL he polled third in best and fairest against the older kids and as a flow on from his first season he got the Giants Academy and Central West selection and this year, with all the programs he's been a part of, he's got himself a great result.
"He's a really hard worker and he's always had a lot of drive."
