The decision was made quickly, the store was found the following day and just like that Gorgeousness was born, 17 years ago last Saturday, October 2.
Ms Aberley was very excited to reach 17 years in business and is looking forward to seeing her staff and clients again shortly.
"How lucky am I to have such wonderful customers, because they've kept me going," she said.
"It's been tough and not having that contact with people, which I love, and not having my wonderful staff here, that's been tough.
"I'm really excited to have my customers back and have the doors open again."
Ms Aberley worked for St George Bank for 15 years and during that time received training in management and customer service.
That experience was the platform for her new business venture once she decided it was time for a change.
"I love to shop and very into my fashion and I'd worked at the bank for so many years I just got to the point where I felt like I wanted to do something for myself," she said.
"I guess there's been a lot of things that have changed over 17 years but none of it's really been negative, it's all been a growing and learning experience ... I genuinely love coming into work."
The original "quirky and cute" Gorgeousness store hasn't changed but the business is expanding.
Gorgeousness now has a homewares store and when COVID lockdown finishes a new shoe store will be waiting.
