There has been a massive decrease in new COVID cases for the Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD), with just eight recorded up to 8pm last night.

Tragically, another person in Dubbo has also died with the virus.
Bathurst recorded no new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm on Monday but there are still 12 active cases within the local government area. Eight Bathurst cases have been discharged from in the past week.

Up to 8pm on Monday the eight new cases across WNSWLHD were in Dubbo (five), Narromine (two) and Cowra (one). Four of the Dubbo LGA cases are in Wellington.
There was also another death in Dubbo linked to the virus - a man in his 70s who had received one dose of vaccine and had underlying health conditions. In total, there have been 12 deaths recorded in WNSWLHD and 1414 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Across the state, there were 608 new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, and seven deaths - including the person in Dubbo.
The other six people were from Sydney LGAs. Five of them were not vaccinated.

In the last 24 hours, stay-at-home orders have been were lifted in the Cowra LGA (from 12.01am on Tuesday, October 5).
Cowra went back into lockdown just over two weeks ago when a nine-year-old boy contracted the virus and was infectious in the community for more than two days.
