The Bathurst branch of the Combined Pensioners and Superannuants Association (CPSA) will host a forum on November 18, giving community members the opportunity to hear from the candidates and put their questions to them.
CPSA president John Hollis said that fliers will be handed out at the ballot draw, formally inviting candidates to participate in the forum.
However, they are welcome to get in contact with the CPSA ahead of time.
In light of the high number of candidates and limited seating due to COVID, not all of them will be able to be present on stage.
"We're only going to have a representative of each group and the individuals and they're going to have about four minutes each [to speak]," Mr Hollis said.
"... We can't get the whole 40 to 50 candidates up on the stage, but we will encourage all the candidates to come along and we'll sit them in the front row and if there is a question for them, they can stand up and answer."
Members of the public, regardless of whether or not they are CPSA members, are invited to attend the candidates forum.
Mr Hollis said it is a great opportunity for residents, particularly those who have only recently moved to Bathurst, to get to know the candidates ahead of the December 4 election.
"There will be an opportunity for questions from the floor. I'd like written questions if people can bring them on the day," he said.
The CPSA regularly holds candidate forums ahead of elections for all levels of government, and Mr Hollis said that the feedback has always been good from all involved.
"You don't know the impact at the ballot box, but as far as the community and the candidates are concerned, they look forward to the forum," he said.
The forum will be held in Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre's City Hall from 10am on November 18.
