A spokesperson for the Western NSW Local Health District said testing tends to increase when exposure venues are identified.
"We have typically seen increases in testing numbers following the identification of new cases around the district and we need to continue seeing a strong response from the community," they said.
"But we all have a role to play all the time, in helping to stop the spread of COVID-19 and keep each other safe. So even as vaccination rates climb, with restrictions continuing to ease and movement increasing we need to assume that COVID-19 is creeping around, and be aware of the way we interact with other people."
While testing numbers are steady, the advice is for more people to come forward to ensure any cases are identified.
"Widespread testing remains crucial to stopping the spread of COVID-19 and getting tested regularly is one way we, as individuals, can all continue helping to stop that spread as restrictions continue to ease," the spokesperson said.
