It is when the Wellington Phoenix side she is part of makes its first appearance in the A-League Women's competition.
Wellington has been drawn to play the Western Sydney Wanderers at WIN Stadium in a contest that Rue has been eagerly anticipating since signing on as a member of Phoenix's inaugural women's squad in October.
At training on Thursday morning the talented Bathurst 18-year-old was excited as contemplated the biggest moment of her career thus far.
"Now it's game day minus one the nerves have certainly kicked in," she said.
"We've got training on the pitch this morning to finalise plans and get a foot on the ball ahead of tomorrow afternoon's game. The team is buzzing and I'm really excited to get into it with the girls."
Before she was recruited by Phoenix, Rue had considered taking up a training squad position with the Wanderers, a club which joined the women's league in 2012.
But Phoenix offered Rue greater opportunity for game time so she jumped at their offer.
She has stepped up to the top tier competition after impressing in the National Premier League for Football NSW Institute of Sport, scoring 19 goals over 75 matches.
It is an attacking role she is likely to fill for Wellington, but Rue is happy to see game time in any position on Friday. She and her team-mates are all eager to 'rip in'.
"Obviously I would be stoked to get into the starting line up, but with such a strong squad and quality players, to get as many minutes as possible would be great," she said.
"We have no expectations as an inaugural women's team, so our goal is to just set the tone for what we are about and really rip in. Bring on Wanderers!"
The Wanderers side Rue faces includes another Bathurst soccer graduate in Erica Halloway, an experienced attacker who is embarking on her seventh season in the women's A-League competition.
It is the Wanderers who will start as favourites for the round one clash, but with youth and enthusiasm on their side Rue and her team-mates will take the fight to them.
Kick-off at WIN Stadium is 5.05pm Friday.
