HE'S experienced what is like to start from pole position, he's experienced what it feels like to stand on the top step of a Supercars podium, and when Will Brown lines up in this year's Bathurst 1000 it will be with another number one in mind.

It is that intent which shows just how much progress the Erebus Motorsport driver has made in his rookie Supercars season.
At the season opening Bathurst 500, the 23-year-old admitted he would have liked more pace but was happy enough with his 16th and 14th placings after a heavy crash at The Dipper in opening practice.
But for Sunday's Bathurst 1000, Brown is not only hungry to claim the chequered flag, but believes he has the potential to do so.
"We're definitely going for a podium, that's for sure. We've won a race now, we should've actually won a few in Sydney if it wasn't for pit stops," he said.
"So we are going there to try and get on that podium and win that race, there's no point going there if you're not trying to win.
"The cars are really fast and they've [Erebus] shown at Bathurst they are really quick. They've been in the top 10, they won in 2017, should've won 2018 and have been fast every other year. So we're going there to ultimately trying to win."
Much of Brown's confidence stems from the four consecutive rounds held at Sydney Motorsport Park in the build up to Bathurst.
It was at that circuit he clinched his maiden Supercars pole position and later became the first rookie to win a race since Scott McLaughlin in 2013.
He held off star Red Bull duo Jamie Whincup and Shane van Gisbergen to claim the chequered flag.
"It's pretty cool, to get that win in your first season is awesome and it probably still hasn't sunk in yet, also to get my first pole as well, that was fantastic," he said.
"It has just been an amazing season.
"It definitely is surreal, to be looking up to those guys when you're racing go-karts and in junior categories then to be holding them out for a win. The two Red Bull cars were the best team this year in the championship, so it was just cool to have that battle at the end and come out on top."
Brown has previously contested the Bathurst 1000 three times, his best result when placing 15th with David Reynolds last year.
But to get the chance to tackle to 161 laps of the Mount as a lead driver is a prospect he can't wait for.
"It's going to be awesome to be doing it as a lead driver, the Bathurst 1000 is our Melbourne Cup and all that sort of stuff," he said.
"So to be the lead driver and to roll up there after having such good results is going to be awesome and I can't wait to have the fans back there. That's what makes it such an awesome event."
Though Bathurst 1000 is the only endurance race of the season, Brown's previous experience at the circuit - he won a Super2 race last year - and the amount of driving he has done recently is something he thinks has him in good stead.
"I'm feeling comfortable, we've done a lot recently and also the Bathurst events in Super2 have been 250 kilometres the last couple of years. So they're plenty long enough, it's like doing a double stint and a bit more, so yeah I feel plenty confident with the distance of the race," he said.
"Winning that Super2 race there, that was fantastic, it's a whole different ball game in the main game, but I'm sure we can still do it."
Brown will share the seat of his #9 Commodore with Jack Perkins, a man who is lining up for his 16th start in the Great Race.
"The Perkins name is obviously a massive name in motor sport, let alone at the mountain, so it will be awesome to have Jack on board, he's an awesome driver and really quick, so I'm looking forward to it.
"He's very easy, he just jumps straight into my seat and he's happy, he's great."
