Bathurst MP Paul Toole announces $7700 grant for Riding for the Disabled

Completing the concrete path, which connects the annexe to the main RDA arena and clubhouse, will be made possible after Bathurst MP Paul Toole announced funding of $7700 for the project.

Mr Toole said the extra pathway will allow easy access for anyone with mobility challenges to enjoy the benefits that interacting with a range of different pets provide.

"The project includes laying a concrete path which is about 35 metres long and two metres wide," he said.

"It effectively completes the loop to and from the new pet therapy annexe and has been an addition that RDA staff have been keen to see come to fruition."

Earlier this year Mr Toole officially opened the new pet therapy annexe which was also funded by the NSW Government with support of $153,000.

It is now able to house a range of animals including a Shetland pony, donkey, deer, alpacas, goats, ducks, rabbits, chooks, a calf and even a couple of pigs.

"That funding also allowed the car park to be sealed as well as fencing and concrete pathway," Mr Toole said.

"At the time we also announced the annexe would be named after long-serving RDA volunteer Melinda Gavin."
