The wet weather could get its start on Thursday.
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast up to 3mm for Thursday and potentially a thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening, which could possibly be severe.
Friday is set to be the wettest day.
The Bureau said there is an 80 per cent chance of rain, and between 6mm and 20mm could fall.
Like Thursday, there is a chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening.
The wet weather is expected to continue on Saturday, where there is an 80 per cent chance of any rain.
As much as 15mm could fall, with showers most likely in the afternoon and evening.
The Bureau has also forecast small amounts of rain for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Bathurst had only recorded 0.2mm of rain in 2022 at the agricultural station.
The long-term average for January in Bathurst is 68mm.
Below-average rain was recorded across the month in 2021, with only 36.2mm, however Bathurst has recently experienced some above average monthly rainfall totals, including last month.
