When it was formed in 1971 as an informal group, members met in the home of Edwina Loudon-Shand, where spinning and weaving were taught.
"With increased interest in the guild, the inaugural business meeting was held on February 14, 1972, following which the secretary, Irma Binder, arranged for registration of the local group with the NSW Guild," current president Sally Dunstall said.
Today, the group is still an "enthusiastic and thriving community of men and women interested in the many aspects of fibre, including spinning and weaving, dyeing, felting, knitting and crochet", she said.
"With things getting back to normal, we are looking forward to being involved in things like the Heritage Trades Fair and the Bathurst Show as usual this year," Ms Dunstall said.
"It is always good to demonstrate and share our craft and to be involved in the community and we look forward to including new members in 2022."
