OFFICIAL new COVID cases for the Bathurst Regional local government area were drastically lower in the latest reporting period, but the local statistics still don't include positive rapid antigen tests.

A better guide to the situation across the Western NSW Local Health District, which stretches from Lightning Ridge to Cowra and Cobar to Mudgee, is cases admitted to hospital, which grew by almost a third.
None of those cases are in ICU, however.
Western NSW Local Health District had an official 261 new cases (identified by PCR testing) to 8pm on Thursday, of which Bathurst had just 12, Orange 143 and Dubbo 22 (one of those at Wellington).
There were no official new cases at Oberon and eight in Blayney Shire.
Bathurst had 130 new cases in the 24 hours to 8pm on Wednesday.
There were 16 COVID cases admitted to hospitals in the Western NSW Local Health District in the 24 hours to 8pm on Monday, 19 in the 24 hours to 8pm on Tuesday and 23 in the 24 hours to 8pm on Wednesday.
That figure rose to 30 in the latest reporting period.
The Western NSW Local Health District is reminding households to have a plan in place for if a member of the household needs to self-isolate with COVID-19, or while waiting for test results.
IN OTHER NEWS AROUND BATHURST:
Across NSW, in the 24 hours to 8pm on Thursday, there were 63,018 positive test results (cases) notified - 37,938 positive rapid antigen tests (RATs) and 25,080 positive PCR tests.
Of the 37,938 positive RAT results, 24,329 of these positive tests were from the previous seven days, NSW Health says.
There were 29 deaths reported by NSW Health - 14 women and 15 men.
Ten were from south-western Sydney, five from northern Sydney, five from south-eastern Sydney, three from western Sydney, two from Sydney's Inner West, two from the Tweed Heads area, one from Wollongong and one from the Lake Macquarie area.
IN OTHER NEWS AROUND BATHURST:
NSW Health says there are 2525 COVID-19 cases admitted to hospital in the state, up by 142 on the previous day, and 184 people in intensive care, up by two on the previous day.
Of those, 59 require ventilation, which is down by one on the previous day.
