Country Women's Association Bathurst celebrating 100 years of CWA

The Country Women's Association (CWA) of NSW is set to celebrate its 100th anniversary on April 20 and Bathurst branch president Helana Donaldson is looking forward to the milestone.

Though the local CWA won't reach a century until 2024, the Bathurst members will enjoy a luncheon at Abercrombie House on May 22 to celebrate the association.

"We're really looking forward to having a lovely celebration where we're not cooking or cleaning the tables," Ms Donaldson said.

ALSO MAKING NEWS:

"We'll be putting together some other strategies like hopefully having a display at the library or the museum.

"It's not easy to plan with COVID-19."

The annual State Conference will be the biggest celebration of the year and will be held at Royal Randwick from May 2-5.

Ms Donaldson said they will begin to raise funds so they can send two delegates from their branch down and she encourages all members to attend if possible.

"This isn't going to happen in our lifetime again," she said.

Bathurst has two association branches: CWA Bathurst and CWA Bathurst Evening Branch. They work closely together to improve the community.
