
HOSPITALISED COVID cases were up across the state but dropped dramatically in the Western NSW Local Health District in the latest update.

Having reported 37 people with COVID across the health district's hospitals just a day before, the health district reported that number had dropped to 25 in its Tuesday morning update.
There is one COVID case in ICU.
There were 259 new COVID cases identified by PCR test and 363 identified by rapid antigen test across the Western NSW Local Health District in the 24 hours to 8pm on Monday.
Bathurst Regional local government area had 53 new cases identified by PCR, Dubbo had 110 and Orange 15.
Oberon had six and Blayney Shire nine.
The health district says the vast majority of people who have COVID-19 "can safely manage at home", so is urging residents to have a plan prepared for if they, or someone in their household, needs to isolate - including knowing how to manage symptoms.
IN OTHER NEWS AROUND BATHURST:
Across NSW, in the 24 hours to 8pm on Monday, there were 18,512 positive test results (cases) notified - 9090 positive rapid antigen tests (RATs) and 9422 positive PCR tests.
Of the 9090 positive RAT results, 8242 were from the previous seven days.
There were 29 deaths reported by NSW Health - 13 women and 16 men.
Ten people were from south-western Sydney, six from western Sydney, four from the Shellharbour area, three from south-eastern Sydney, two from northern Sydney, one from the Wollongong area, one from Broken Hill, one from the New England region and one from the Central Coast.
IN OTHER NEWS AROUND BATHURST:
Of those, 72 require ventilation, which is up by three on the previous day.
