The SES predicted a peak for the Macquarie River at Bathurst of around 3.6 metres on Sunday evening, but adjusted that prediction to 3.75 metres as the day wore on.
In the end, the Macquarie peaked at 3.66 metres around 3.30pm on Sunday.
The minor flood level is three metres.

Bathurst Regional Council reported a number of road closures on Sunday due to the wet weather, including Lagoon Road (water over the road between Vale Road and Gormans Hill Road) and Lloyds Road.
There was also minor flooding on the Belubula at Canowindra, where the river peaked at just under four metres on Sunday morning.
The Hereford Street low level bridge's last closure was in November, but the river has been well up a number of times this summer as a La Nina weather system dominates the state.
Bathurst received an official 242 millimetres in November, followed by a comparatively dry 72 millimetres in December, and the city has had an official 114 millimetres so far this month - compared with the long-term average for January of 68 millimetres.
The region's dams reflect the wet run.
Wyangala Dam, on the Lachlan River south-west of Bathurst, is 99.2 per cent of capacity, according to Water NSW; Oberon Dam, on the Fish River south of Bathurst, is 100 per cent; and Burrendong Dam, on the Macquarie downriver of Bathurst, is 121 per cent.
Chifley Dam was at 100.3 per cent on January 18, when Bathurst Regional Council last provided an update.
The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting a chance of showers on Tuesday and Wednesday and then dry weather on Thursday and Friday.
The forecast shows temperatures dropping to around 20 degrees from Friday on and minimums coming right down.
If that proves right, Bathurst's hottest day of the summer - 31 degrees in early January - might be a chance of remaining unchallenged.
