We are building a circuit of venues across the Central West where you can hear original music created by artists who live here in our towns - artists singing songs that both reflect life here and connect with the wider human experience of modern life.
The Arts OutWest Live and Kicking program returns for 2022 with shows happening in Cowra and Orange this weekend.
Arts OutWest Live and Kicking events are supported by the Australian Government's Live Music Australia.
A man, his guitar and a special night of stories
ORANGE'S Live and Kicking event will be held at 6pm this Friday, February 4 at the Agrestic Grocer.
Arts OutWest and The Agrestic Grocer are presenting Meet The Songwriter Sessions featuring artists from the Central West telling the stories behind their songs and this first session will feature Orange local Robbie Mortimer.
A born storyteller, Robbie has just released his second album 200 Years Too Late, which, upon release, climbed into the Top 10 of the iTunes Pop Charts and received a glowing critical response.
"200 Years Too Late explores the extremes of love and loss, as well as the power struggle between dreams and reality, and there's only one word for Mortimer's efforts: incredible," Sam Bolt from the Western Advocate said.
Live and Kicking will bring Robbie Mortimer to the Agrestic stage for one night only.
This will be an intimate performance: a man and his guitar as he walks us through his personal story of how he crafted these songs over the past two extraordinary years.
Tickets $25: https://theagresticgrocer.yapsody.com/event/
A taste of New Orleans at centre's all-ages gig
LIVE and Kicking at Cowra will be held at 2pm this Sunday, February 6 at Cowra Civic Centre.
The Safety of Life at Sea will present an all-ages gig, bringing a touch of New Orleans to the Central West, with a distinctly vintage vibe, inspired by blues and soul as well as the classic songwriters of the 60s and 70s.
For a family friendly audience, they will perform music from their recently released album, Let The River Go, including the fun and funky single Get Serious.
Tickets $10: www.cowraciviccentre.com/Whats-On/
