Male driver Kasey Glover, 39, and his female passenger Ashlea Francisco, 37, have been charged with a string of offences relating to the pursuit, as well as a sawed-off firearm allegedly found in their possession.
Both did not apply for bail and were formally refused when they appeared at Burwood Local Court on Friday.
Glover is facing 20 charges including possessing an unregistered firearm in public, not stopping in a police pursuit, dangerous driving, aggravated break and enter, fraud and stealing.
Francisco was charged with six offences including possessing an unregistered firearm in public, aggravated break and enter, and stealing.
Police said they attempted to stop the pair after detecting their allegedly stolen vehicle on the Hume Highway south west of Liverpool around 9.30am on Thursday.
A short chase ensued, which police were forced to call off due to safety concerns.
Police monitored the couple from the air as they sped across Sydney's west, eventually crashing into a pole in North Rocks, north of Parramatta, where they were arrested at around 11am.
Superintendent Adam White said on Friday the pair showed no concern whatsoever for the safety of other motorists.
"Their manner of driving was appalling and it was just lucky that no one was injured," he said.
