The dinner held to commemorate the life and times of former Prime Minister Ben Chifley has attracted a succession of high profile speakers including Prime Minister Julia Gillard, Gough Whitlam, Bryce Courtenay, Barry Jones, Gabi Hollows, Thomas Keneally and Kim Beazley.
Ms Burney is the first Aboriginal Australian to be elected to the NSW Parliament and a proud member of the Wiradjuri nation.
The Light on the Hill Dinner will take place on September 17.
