She said a guard fence has now been installed to protect the bridge rail.
“Changed Traffic Conditions Ahead signs are in place 200 metres before Pat O’Leary Drive and between the bridge and traffic lights on Littlebourne Street to warn motorists of the new arrangements,” she said.
“Other signs, including Keep Left and No Stopping, are expected to be in place later this week, weather permitting,” she said.
She said the pedestrian refuge is needed as part of the development to keep pedestrians safe.
“The new business is expected to generate a large number of pedestrians crossing the highway,” she said.
“Reflector arrows on the pedestrian refuge and a refuge island warning sign will be installed this week.”
